How did you come to be in Singapore?

My partner was offered a job opportunity in Singapore and as soon as he asked me how I felt about the move, I didn’t hesitate to say YES! My feet were a little itchy and I loved the thought of moving to a new country to work and explore.

Where did you work before PhysioActive?

I was working in a wonderful Physiotherapy and Clinical Pilates centre called Dynamic Stability in Melbourne, Australia. My caseload was a mix of Clinical Pilates classes, sports, spinal and womens health physiotherapy. I was involved in the Polestar Pilates Mentoring team, teaching new clinical pilates instructors. I also had my own physiotherapy rooms that I ran one day per week.

What is your specialisation?

In recent years the Clinical Pilates has given me a very good understanding of biomechanics and whole body movement. I feel that there is so much that everyone can gain from heightened awareness of their body and positive movement experiences. I also am fascinated by pain science and feel it is very important to educate clients early to prevent long term issues.

I am also passionate about Womens Health. I have taken some post graduate courses and wish to continue to learn and expand my skill set in this area.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

The prospect of a new day and whatever it may hold, and absolutely the prospect of FOOD! I also try to meditate first thing in the morning to put me in a good space for the rest of the day.

What do you do with your holiday time?

Travel is my number one passion. Singapore is obviously a wonderful springboard into much of Asia (and we are half way to Europe by Aussie standards!) Holidays will always involve exploring the new culture by their food, spending as much time as possible in the outdoors – whether hiking, cycling, swimming, surfing and meeting the locals.

Do you have any hobbies?

I love being active, so yoga and pilates, cycling and running are hobbies of mine. Generally any activities near/in the ocean or surrounded by trees energise me. Trying different and local food is a favourite past time and I am also very interested in nutrition and enjoy cooking healthy food that is also delicious!
