Jia Zhi has been participating in competitive netball in Singapore during her schooling years, and made her first contact with a physiotherapist when she hurt her foot. She was intrigued as to how taping and some manual therapy helped her to recover and play for the rest of the season, hence deciding to venture into this profession.
Jia Zhi graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from SIT (Singapore Institute of Technology) in collaboration with TCD (Trinity of Dublin) in 2015. Before joining PhysioActive, she worked in Tan Tock Seng Hospital for 5 years, specialising in the treatment of musculoskeletal, sports injuries and chronic pain. Thereafter, Jia Zhi developed a strong interest to rehabilitate patients with chronic spinal pain; with her training in Polestar Rehabilitation, she incorporates Pilates as part of the treatment process.
Jia Zhi’s emphasis of treatment is to educate patients on conditions, busting common myths about exercise and physiotherapy, and to ensure that goals of the patients are met.
